Also consult your engineering staff before making changes or discarding the excess stock in the firm. You would know better what things need to be thrown away, which items if sold on time, would give you gains, and which would give you losses. Getting rid of excess items is even not that easy. You need to see what items should be discarded and how. 

The excess components could also be handling d with great care. If your engineering team person tells you that you have much demand for the coming product, and the excess stock would be used as an initial product for delivering the final product, you must never get rid of it. If you sell electronic components without determining the exact needs, you will never be able to get it on the desired costs. 

You may get it at very mounting and excessive costs and the COST of goods sections would be higher in your income statement, resulting lowered net profit margins. Not only this, if you don’t find some suitable market for your old products, you can make some attractive color and packaging changes to these as well too. Some better advertising and product promotion ways would also help you not getting rid of your product, if there isn’t any feasible customer for it.

Listen to the marketing staff and experts and see what they say. Make some nice changes in the product and then start marketing again.
